The department has been using HDR brachytherapy for the treatment of Cervical cancer for a number of years and also makes use of interstitial catheters to allow the treatment of bulkier tumours.
Our department has shown that the use of interstitial catheters has been shown to allow significant escalate of the dose to the HR-CTV whilst maintaining acceptable OAR doses:
