The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology held a physics workshop on Quantitative Imaging within Radiotherapy and this was attended by Rob Julian from the Royal Surrey’s radiotherapy physics department.

There were wide ranging discussions on the day and a summary of the outcomes has recently been published in The Green Journal and is Open Access making it available worldwide, and with a significant presence due to the high impact factor of the journal.

The paper which Rob co-authored discusses the key points of the meeting, including the use of quantitative imaging bio-markers and their use to assess the evolution of tumours throughout treatment as well as the potential next steps in the increasing role of quantitative imaging.

The paper can be viewed online at: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.radonc.2020.01.026
