Melanie Cunningham, Head of Brachytherapy Physics within the radiotherapy department at the Royal Surrey spoke is talking at the national induction day for the new intake of Medical Physics STP (Scientist Training Programme) trainees in Birmingham. This is run by the National School of Healthcare Science. Mel has been a designated training officer for a number of years and is speaking on “Your training officer and you: How your training will be facilitated in your workplace”. Finding out how the training works in practice is vital for getting off to a good start, and so invaluable information for the new trainees.
Trainees undertake a 3 year programme which consists of a University accredited Masters Degree as well as work based learning in their designated areas.
