EUTEMPE-NET
EUTEMPE-NET
NCCPM is part of the EUTEMPE-NET consortium. The EUTEMPE-NET project was formed to provide high level training in diagnostic and interventional radiology to reach EQF level 8. A European network of partners was brought together in an FP7 EC project to ensure sufficient expertise in all fields of study and to create a harmonized programme of courses. The project has modules covering the diverse areas including professional skills (e.g. leadership, communication), dosimetry, imaging technologies and image quality. The target groups for this project are medical physicists in hospitals, medical devices industry and in regulatory authorities. A blended learning process is used, where learning is undertaken using a mixture of e-learning and face-to-face training.
NCCPM run module 7: Optimising the performance of x-ray imaging units
Aim: This module aims to help the future MPE (Diagnostic Radiology) acquire the knowledge, skills and competences necessary to:
1. measure and interpret modulation transfer function (MTF), noise power spectra (NPS) and detective quantum efficiency (DQE)
2. undertake optimisation of planar imaging systems in general radiographic and mammographic systems. The optimisation techniques discussed will include standard test object measurements of image quality and advanced quantitative measurement
