St Luke’s is one of the first UK departments to have a Varian ETHOS, enabling us to deliver daily online adaptive radiotherapy, in addition to six Varian TrueBeams and 3 CT Scanners across our two sites, within an Aria environment. External beam treatment planning is carried out using the Varian Eclipse system, and includes use of knowledge-based planning, autocontouring and scripting for automated workflows. The Guildford site additionally has an orthovoltage unit, a Papillon unit for contact radiotherapy and a comprehensive, highly-renowned brachytherapy service including both HDR and LDR treatments.

The posts are based in our main site at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, giving easy access to the beautiful North & South Downs Way, south coast and central London. The city offers cultural diversity, is home to the University of Surrey and it is great place to reside and explore. Attendance at our satellite centre at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill will be required on rotation. We have strong links with the National Physical Laboratory and University of Surrey. We offer all staff the opportunity to work from home for part of the time, dependent on the needs of the service and offer senior staff the possibility of a 9 day fortnight working pattern with a fixed day off every two weeks.
