Matt completed his Bachelor's degree at the University of Exeter. He then went on to train on the Scientist Training Programme based in North London, rotating through different Hospitals. During his training he studied for the Master's degree in Clinical Science (specialising in Medical Physics). He joined the Royal Surrey in 2015 and has become a jack of all trades so is involved with most elements of the department. In 2022 he completed the Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST), which included a Doctorate in Clinical Science. Through this he has taken on responsibilities for the departments Quality Management System and Training. He also has been collaborating with Adaptix Limited investigating their novel technology. Following his training on HSST he has been appointed as a Principal Physicist and has also taken on the role of the Business Manager for the department; reviewing processes, managing contracts and developing business cases. Outside of work Matt is a keen rugby player and sailor. He's lives in Guildford with his wife and young family.
