Josie Balanga

I graduated from the Philippines in 1994 with a degree in Nursing. I have worked as a general adult nurse in Coronary Care and High Dependency unit at Furness Genaral Hospital in Cumbria and moved to Surrey in 2003 where I warked as Oncology,Haematology and Palliative Care Nursing for 20 years before joining Nuclear Medicine Team.I also obtained my chemotherapy course at the University of Surrey. As a Nuclear Medicine Therapy Nurse I administer treatments like Radium 223 Dichloride. Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy and I administer Radioactive injections for Diagnostic patients. I assess patients undergoing Radionuclide Therapies holistically and address their concerns as long as it's in the context of my duties and responsibilities. If not, I make sure I refer them to the appropriate clinician. Iam looking forward to be doing more Therapies in the future so I can maximise my potential as a Nuclear Medicine Nurse.
