Anne-Marie Stapleton

I am a Consultant Clinical Scientist and a Deputy Head of Nuclear Medicine Physics at the Royal Surrey NHS FT, with a particular focus on molecular radiotherapy. I completed a Master of Physics degree at the University of Oxford, followed by a PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge. After working for three years in the defence industry as an Optical Physicist and Consultant, I moved into healthcare in 2010 as a Trainee Clinical Scientist in Nuclear Medicine Physics at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. During my training, I also completed an MSc in Physics and Engineering in Medicine at University College London. I have been based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2017, became a Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in 2020, and joined the Higher Specialist Scientist Register in 2024. My current role focuses on the development and delivery of safe and effective radionuclide therapy services. In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in the wider professional community as a member of the IPEM Nuclear Medicine Specialist Interest Group and as a workstream lead within the BNMS Molecular Radiotherapy Consortium.
