Dr Dominic Ward
I am a Principal Computer Scientist at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, where I work on data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and software development in support of the group's diverse research and development projects. I joined the Trust in 2018 and have since established and maintained a range of radiology image research databases, such as the mammography imaging database OPTIMAM. I am currently working on developing DICOM anonymisation and continuous monitoring systems to facilitate the safe deployment of AI in mammography.
I completed my PhD in Audio Engineering at Birmingham City University in 2017, alongside a research fellowship at the Sensory Motor Neuroscience lab at the University of Birmingham, and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing at the University of Surrey. This background gave me experience in experimental design (psychophysics), statistics, numerical computing, real-time signal processing, and general software development.
