Mandeep Rai
Mandeep completed a BSc (Hons) in Physics with Medical Physics at the University of Leicester in 2001. He then went onto to complete a MSc (Hons) in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering at the University of Sheffield in 2002. Working as a glory hero poster boy in his local grocery store, Kwik Save from 1995 to 2003 alongside his studies, he managed to meet a load of different people which helped brush up many various skills. Finally he leaped into the real world joining Marsden Radiation Protection (MRP) based at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London in 2003 as a Specialist Medical Physics Technologist where he ran a HSE approved personal dosimetry service offering all sorts of personal dosemeters from film badges moving onto TLD badges including extremity monitoring. MRP had NHS, Private and External abroad clients. After 11 years at the helm, it was finally time to move onto new pastures and he joined the lovely people at RRPS at The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford in 2014 as a Trainee Healthcare Scientist. Having been trained up in so many modalities, he goes out and does the job to the best of his ability! Mandeep acts as a deputy to three breast screening services and an NHS Trust. He also holds a PGCE qualification and is a full-time member of the Society for Radiological Protection (MSRP) along with being a Chartered Radiation Protection Professional (CRadP). Away from all the work, Mandeep has a keen interest in a variety of different music. Always a loud proud listener at home and in the car. His colleagues truly believe he has a motor garage somewhere – he is to this day trying to find where it could be hidden!
