Andrew Joiner

I joined the NHS in 2009 and worked in radiotherapy as a qualified PTP clinical technologist for almost 10 years, before re-training as a clinical scientist via the Scientist Training Programme, qualifying in 2020. I have worked at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust Scientific Computing department since 2017, and am employed as a principal computer scientist. I hold degrees in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering and Clinical Science. My particular specialism is in DICOM, image processing and backend server-side software development. I am actively involved in the STP training programme, and routinely act as project supervisor for our trainee Clinical Scientists. I have taken the technical development lead on numerous high-reaching clinical trials such as the FastMRI DYAMOND clinical trial.
