Helen LeSueur
I am a Computer Scientist at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. I completed my undergraduate degree at Newcastle University in Psychology in 2012, and worked as a research assistant in the Institute of Neuroscience, looking at colour vision deficiencies and tetrachromacy. I then completed an MSc in Biomedical Engineering and worked as a Data Analyst for 2 years, on a precision medicine project looking at treatments for patients with Lupus. I joined the Royal Surrey in 2019 as a Scientific Training Programme (STP) trainee in Clinical Bioinformatics and have worked as a Computer Scientist in the department since 2022. In 2023 I was awarded a Topol fellowship to work on a research project looking at the detection of brain tumours using CNNs. I now provide technical support and software development expertise for a variety of projects that involve image collection, AI monitoring and data analysis, including OPTIMAM, DYAMOND and AI-BRACE.
