There are requirements listed in NHSBSP 2019 “Breast screening: quality assurance for medical physics services” (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/breast-screening-quality-assurance-for-medical-physics-services) for each medical physics department on the frequency of testing of mammographic equipment. This database is designed for reporting by medical physics on whether they are meeting the requirements.
In addition, Quality Control results for some tests are also stored e.g. mean glandular dose, contrast to noise ratio, threshold gold thickness (CDMAM), MTF and NNPS. These are used to set baselines and tolerances. The recommendations to the screening centres are also recorded.
