The Radiotherapy department have treated their first patient using online-adaptive radiotherapy.
\nThis was the result of a large multidisciplinary team effort.<\/p>\n

This improves upon traditional radiotherapy by generating a new treatment plan for each day of the treatment, allowing the internal anatomy to be treated no matter if it has moved since the first patient appointment.<\/p>\n

The Varian Ethos<\/a> system used AI to auto-segment internal organs and the automated optimisation engine produces plans in a fraction of the time of the current systems in use.<\/p>\n
