therapy is an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven holistic solution designed to increase the capability, flexibility and efficiency of radiotherapy<\/p>\n<p>The team monitors the machines performance through performance of QC testing and results are recorded electronically on the <a href=\"http:\/\/qatrackplus.com\/\">QATrack+<\/a> system which runs across both the main Guildford site and the Satellite Centre at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill.<\/p>\n<h3>Orthovoltage<\/h3>\n<p>There is a Gulmay unit which delivers superficial treatments (primary skin treatments) in the energy range 80kV-250kV.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/medphys.royalsurrey.nhs.uk\/department\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/mark_gulmay_chamber.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1410 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/medphys.royalsurrey.nhs.uk\/department\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/mark_gulmay_chamber.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"976\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/medphys.royalsurrey.nhs.uk\/department\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/mark_gulmay_chamber.jpg 976w, https:\/\/medphys.royalsurrey.nhs.uk\/department\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/mark_gulmay_chamber-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/medphys.royalsurrey.nhs.uk\/department\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/mark_gulmay_chamber-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 976px) 100vw, 976px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Future developments<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Development of online adaptive planning workflow<\/li>\n<li>Use of Monte Carlo treatmetn algorithms for electron treatment planning<\/li>\n<li>Use of the ETHOS for routine treatments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The dosimetry team ensure the machines within the department are working safely and within defined limits.
